Re: Mind and Body symptoms due to anxiety and panic. Check i
Has anyone ever had muscle twitching that bad caused by stress and anxiety?? Even though everyone keeps telling me its stress, every time I feel a twitch in my legs arms or abs, I freak out and think of What disease I have. I want to reiterate that I have had every test known to man and everything is normal. I cant go see anymore drs. I am losing my mind. I just noticed as I was eating some strawberries a tiny cut on the roof of my mouth. Its so tiny, but I convinced myself it must be some sort of gum disease or herpes (Ive had 3 herpes blood tests for 1 &2, all of which were negative). Someone please give me some advice!! Am I the only nut job who thinks like this??

I was having a lot of problems in my life, some of them the same as yours, about 5 years ago.
These issues eventually ended up with me having a "breakdown" and going on Short Term Disability
from my job. I got help through hospitalizations, doctors and medications at the time. If you can
afford it and short term medical leave from your job is available, I would take it. If your problems are causing
a lack in your performance at work, it may be the way to go. It worked for me.
You may need medications for the short term to help you out, are you open to this ?
You sound like you are doing all of the right things, visiting your doctors to make sure you rule out any
physical problems versus psychological ones.
Stay Strong.

Free,
I too have health anxiety. For me, it is a avoidance. When I don't have much to do, or when I fear the future, I scare myself with symptoms. My big scarey thoughts are dentist. I can dwell in how bad I feel or worry about this ache or pain. And what if myself into a panick attack.
My suggestion is this. Do this program. It can help you reconise when you are starting to obsess on these issues. When I can feel myself getting tight, I start then to change the channel. Just getting inbetween those unreal thoughts and doing something in a different direction will help alot.
I have gone through this program 3 times, and I am much better than I used to be. If I am not careful I can fall just as many others do, in to those old habits of perception I had before. It takes work but it does get better. I get muscle twitches, leg cramps ect... DO NOT GOOGLE! When all else fails take your zanax. Tell yourself healthy positive talk. I am healthy, I can work through this anxiety!
Best of luck to you, your not alone either.

I agree, DO NOT GOOGLE ! Years ago I used to Google "conditions" and "symptoms" online.
Nothing good ever came out of it and I just became more and more anxious as time went by.

Thank-u for this list really helps me put things in perspective and makes me feel better about myself I get soooo frustrated sometimes because its like I wake-up every morning with the intention of having a good positive day and sure enough something can just set it off and I start to have a these negative thoughts about myself and I just can't stand it sometimes. I am trying to stay positve though thanks again for the list.

I think about what I am thinking and why I am thinking certain things, therefore the whole "who am I" and feeling like I am two people having a war! It sounds obsurd and I know it is, but does anyone else have this and how do you cope?

I was getting these wierd muscle jolts a while back when I was trying to fall asleep. My whole body would just jolt straight and it was so profound it would wake me up. Seeing that in your symptoms list is reassuring that it was related to anxiety. I was having a sore chest for a couple of days. It feels so awful.. years ago I ended up in the ER only to find out that the chest pain was from stress. Hopefully I can control my anxiety so I don't have any more of them!
