A question about the steps

Hi Coach Chris and members,
I was stuck on the part of step two when you have to accept that the body symptoms are anxiety and give myself permission to be anxious because I suppose I know what the cause is. What do you do if you honestly cannot identify what is bothering you and you cannot justify the severe symptoms. It's one thing when there is a clear reason why I would be anxious. But I m having a hard time calming myself in this step process when I cannot figure out what it is that may be causing me to feel intense fear and anxiety. I basically tell myself that the anxiety is automatic bc I am still in beginning to middle stages of recovery and that is to be expected bc my sympathetic nervous system is still on high alert. It is automatic and I just have to accept it as part of the condition process. It is hard though not to be able to attribute it to something logical. It often comes out of nowhere even when Im otherwise feeling calm. very frustrating. What do you think?

Hi Mary,

Yes, the body is on high alert like we spoke about and it is going to take time for it to calm down. Continue to work on the under-reacting and floating. I know this is very hard to do so stay committed and every week will be a better week. Use your relaxation cd several times a day and try to do some of the light exercise we talked about.

Lesson 3 continues to be important so keep working on your positive selftalk:)

Celebrate the little success and changes you are seeing. They will add up.

Dear: Coach,
I have to admit that Lucinda is right about how soda even Diet Caffeine free does affect u. Before I went into the Hospital this time I drank a lot of Decaf coffee and also Decaf caffeine free diet coke< also sugar. It does make a difference. I use to drink 2-2liters of diet coke caffeine free and also decaf coffee before I went into the Hospital. Coach I have to tell u I have not felt this good in years. I drank 1 mug of decaf caffeine and also no coffee and 3 cookies today and I feel so good. Lucinda is right about how things like this do affect u. I would like to meet Lucinda, cause I have such positive talk I would really like to tell her. Also Coach u are also right. I also did my daily walk today, but i walked a little longer this time. I just have been feeling real good today. I also do my praying. Coach in December of 2013 when I went into the Hospital also I was tasered and handcuffed by the police and I have never ever been in trouble by the law. I meant my fiancé (soon to be husband) and we were Security guards. I have been on SSD (Social Security Disability) since 2004. I just want to say to everyone doing the course or even 1 on 1 coaching that it is true about what u eat and drink does affect u and how u feel. I also told my Therapist at the hospital and other stuff about this program.

I finished the program ages ago and am so much better for it. Unfortunately I still have some limitations. Ive never had a panic attack, I got soooo stressed out 2.5 years ago that I got really dizzy and faint, unfortunately I developed a phobia from it and wouldnt do anything for ages. Over time the phobia left and thanks to your program I got rid of that awful dizziness that constantly followed me around.
Im comfortable with most things now but as new things out of my comfort zone come up ill spend days prior to the event getting myself all worked up. Apart from being tired alot I still get dizzy but it never lasts long, id love it to go forever and im sure it will but obviously is going to take more time.
Originally I was popped onto a drug called Cymbalta and i was sooo sick, seriously wrything around in bed for days, itchy etc. It did nothing for me apart from making me so ill so after a few months I stopped taking it. That was years ago and I havent taken anything since. Obviously im making good progress but would love something to just get rid of my fears of getting dizzy a bit quicker.
I was looking online and saw information about a drug called buspar which is totally different to a standard antidepressant (im not depressed, I love my life - i just get dizzy and probably because i get worked up about it). Do you or anyone else reading this have any reccomendations on this drug and if it sounds like it would benefit me, are the side effects bad etc...

Hi ca2,
Im sorry, I have no experience with Cymbalta, but I know that there are hundreds of diff meds that are available. I know that it' hard to think about side effects and switching but when you find the right combo for you it can be life changing. The other option is trying a more natural route. There are none prescription formulas to help with anxiety and calming. Have you ever tried those? I know this could be a very hard time but I hope you will find something that helps and works for you. Good Luck!

hello coach chris i have anxiety since i meet a women.i cant forget my first love.make me guilty because i cant give my whole love to my new girlfriend,because of my past.please give me advice on my anxiety

Wow, this winter is really challenging. I heard on the news today that vacations to warmer weather have increased by 45%. That sounds wonderful! I am trying so hard to remind myself that today is March 4th. Spring is almost here. Hang in there everyone and if anyone wants to send me on vacation to a warmer climate I am ready!!

Hey Everyone,

Weather update: another cold snowy day but sunny and 52 on Friday:)))))

I wanted to reiterate how important Session 1 is in the program. We want to be able to answer the question: "How did I get here?" by the end of that lesson. If you are still struggling with that question and not understanding how you got into the anxiety or depression please schedule a FREE coaching call with me.
