Anyone have any experience with Wellbutron

Like someone above mentioned, everyone has different side effects on all the different meds out there. When I was on WB, I was having hallucinations. I would see waterfalls and my vision would "skip" alot... if that makes any sense. It didn't to me, but my vision would just go blurry for about 5 seconds (like my eyes would shift back and forth) for no reason, then go back to normal. It was too scary for me to stay on, so my Dr. weened me off of that and tried others to no avail. I finally found that Zoloft helped me the most, but then I got laid off and no insurance now. I can't afford it, so I had to be weened off of that, too. Darn it. I'm just doing this program as my meds for now. :)

Good luck and I hope whatever you find really works for you and makes you feel comfortable in your own skin.

I'm taking Wellbutrin SR 150 mg and have taken it for about 4 years. I also take Effexor XR 225 mg and Clonasapam .5. I think the Wellbutrin has been a good thing for me because I have reduced smoking to 2 to 4 cigarettes a day. I don't miss cigarettes, at all. I smoke the few I do out of habit I think (which is stupid!!!).

I have noticed no side effects from the Wellbutrin SR, but the Effexor XR has given me lots of weird side effects. It is the one which my Doctor increases or decreases and she keeps the Wellbutrin at the same dosage. Usually I am at 150 mg of Effexor but I have had some stressful family problems so she increased it just before Christmas.

If you smoke, taking Wellbutrin is a wonderful nicotine addiction stopper.

You know, I really am scared what these pills are doing to my brain though.....

Hi Terag
This was 3 years ago and I don't know the exact dose, but it was probably the 300 or 450mg dose. My brain seldom ever responds to the lower doses of any medication.

Welbutrin is closely related to an appetite suppressant so it can be stimulating in higher doses. In lower doses it can have a relaxing effect. Of course high or low dose depends on the person. It made me sweat like a pig. I couldn't walk across a room without breaking out into a profuse sweat.

I took wellbutrin for depression and to quit smoking. I took 1/2 the dose, I think it ended up being 75 mg total. Anyway, it helped great in the smoking department, but came me much worse anxiety than I already had. A Doctor later told me that its not the best thing for people with anxiety to take and can make anxiety much worse. It also did kill my appetite completely and I had trouble getting off of it. But thats just me, it really is different for everyone. I had much less side effects with lexapro, the only thing that did was make me sleepy, which was kinda nice...midday naps are great.

wow thanks for the heads up on the wellbutron. I have been on it for about 7months and have done well with it so far. I forgot about siezers though and im on 300mg,ug! All these drugs are scarry if you read the side effects. I remember that me doc. wanted to put me on this other drug (forgot name) but i refussed becouse of the side effects. I sometimes wonder if they care about the side effects that it can have on you.It sure would explain why i feel like im shedding my hair. Sarah

My mom is on wellbutrin, and she seems fine to me. She said she didn't have any side effects from it either.

I took Wellbutrin SR with some "odd feelings", mostly some trouble sleeping. I was glad to switch to the XL version. No side effects to speak of. Taking it with Lithium (for Bipolar). I would risk the side effects having seen the benefits. Hang in there!

I am taking the generic version of wellbutrin sr(bupropion). I am on day 20 and I can tell you that I have never been more sick to my stomach, hungry and had a horrible headache as I have for the last 5 days. I don't know if it has something to do with the meds or not. I do get that "skipped" vision feeling every once in a while as well.
When I first started I had horrible bloating and constipation along with headaches. Then it seemed to subside, but now I am having seperate side effects. Plus the anxiety is ridiculous that I have been having lately too.

I am not sure what to do so I got an appointment with my doc to try and get some answers.

Anyone else experience these feelings and/or symptoms?
