Thanks Frances...that was really helpful. It's just hard to feel those anxious feelings again when i haven't had them for months and I have felt so good not having to deal with them.

I'd do the what if thinking in reverse and speak it out loud. What if I enjoy the plane ride...what if it's such a beautiful day I get to see things I've never seen before....what if I do super and get off the plane feeling SO empowered...what if I don't need to take that pill....You'll do great but don't let the fear stand in your way...plow through it and say 'to hell with fear' cuz that's where it originates from. Send it back where it came from.
Thanks Michiganmom.... I think it's just hard having to travel without my husband...he's my rock...and he travels all over the world for work, so it's not a big deal to travel with him cause we are together and he makes me calm down. It's stepping away from that support system that's hard. I much prefer being at my desk for work and not having to travel around for it.
I sure hope it makes me stronger...i think what is stressing me out is that I have so many happy things to look forward to in the next couple of weeks but I have to cross this hurdle first. Our first wedding anniversary is on the 25th then we go on vacay for that the next weekend. That's why I would just prefer to be home...but I have to go and make the best of my experience.
I would really encourage you to feel the feelings and not to avoid them by taking a pill right away. Feeling anxiety or panicky isn't failure at all. The fact is, that if you finished this program, you have skills to feel the fear, face the fear, and overcome the feelings without medication.
You may consider taking a pill with you but not taking it. Remind yourself that it is there but instead you are going to challenge those feelings for as long as you can. If you find yourself needing the pill, take it and remind yourself that you did a good job by allowing yourself to feel those feelings for a little while.
Remember, panic doesn't mean failure... it means SUCCESS, because everytime you panic or have high anxiety, you are doing something amazing to challenge yourself and your growth!!!!
Once you get to the point where you stop running from panic/anxiety sensations, and you allow yourself to ride through them without medication, you will become stronger and stronger and build up more confidence in yourself. There is power in NOT taking that pill!
Always be good to yourself, accept how you feel and know those feelings ( although distressing) are NEVER dangerous and as quick as they come, they will go on their own... yes even without medication!
