Yes, a big part of smoking is the tactile, oral, even smell aspects of it. So pretending and then blowing smoke around may be a start. Also find ways to reward yourself as you turn to it less and less. Mints and gum may help.
Lots of luck coming your way.

Wow, Pettygil--That must be rough having a mother like that. I would really be panicky if my parents had treated me like you have been treated.
Hi Kamo, I'm glad Tina is able to help you to quit smoking. I haven't had to worry about that addiction, but have heard is it very hard. I had a hard time weaning off of Beta Blockers, which I didn't want to be on anyway, but it was difficult going through withdrawals b/c it did affect my body for the short time I was on them.
I hope all goes well for you... Paislee

Pettygil I am so sorry to hear how you are treated by your mother. One of the 10 Commandments is to honor your mother and your father, but I think there are times that we can't do that. I've been having problems with my father lately and have thought about talking to my pastor to see if I'm breaking that Commandment if I don't honor my father like the Bible says. My problem is he's only verbally abusive when he drinks, which isn't often now that he's 83, but boy can he be mean when he is drinking. We just had a big argument this past week. I love him and I know he loves me and my 2 sisters, but it can be very tough sometimes.
