repeating the program
Don't you dare feel bad- This program is worth repeating and repeating and repeating until it is part of your blood. I just started in June and devoured this stuff. Nothing ever helped me make sense of what was going on with me- just squelch it with medication and that didn't even help. And now although I am in the midst of a very anxiety producing situation- I have not had a panic attack. I've felt a few symptoms- but I ran put in a cd and talked myself back to reality. If you have ever played sports or know about muscle memory- well the more you practice the better you are at it. So work those muscles! And never feel as though you are not worth this effort!
Dear Newrunner and everyone else, too.... I got the Freedom From Fear book from the library, and so far, have just read the first chapter, which I am going to re-read as he suggests. It certainly dovetails with the StressCenter.com program, but there are some things in there that I find particularly helpful to me, like when he talks about the genetic prdisposition for anxiety...it changed how I viewed my inability to stop being anxious and depressed. So, I will continue to forge ahead, and hope that it will continue to be helpful. I already exercise, eat (fairly) well, weigh what I should, and am socially active and have something in my life that I love to do. So, those things are in place. The only thing I don't do regularly is meditate, but I will start making that a priority in my life. So, I will let you know how I am doing in the future. So, thank you again, Newrunner, for making that recommendation. This is what this forum is so good at....people helping people. You just never know when something you write is going to make a difference in someone's life.
