Reen,
It sounds like you came off Lexapro way too fast. It should be done in smaller steps over a longer period of time to allow your body/mind to re-adjust. But since you've made it this far, by all means keep going.
You might want to try chewing gum to help with the clinching jaw issue. If at all possible, try to increase your exercise routine to help offset going off the Lex. Good luck to you and God Bless.
Day 7 off lexapro...not good
Reen38,
I just wanted to say that the Effexor should help with the jaw clenching. It worked for me. However, if you ever decide to go off of Effexor, you must do it gradually. I've been off it for about three months, but unfortunately my jaw clenching is back. I'm hoping this program will help me to stop that.

Thanks for everyones replies. I am not going to start the effexor at all. I am doing a lot better today and plan on being medication free. I dont think I came off the Lexapro too fast...according to my doctor once the medicine is completely out of your system there are going to be side effects for up to two weeks or so.
So.....doing much better here and gratefull for your replies

I felt the exact same way as you do when I weaned off of the Lexapro. It was a horrible experience. But, I've been off of it for a year now, and it is good. I had side effects on Lexapro that I did not like, and I just didn't want to be on medication at all. I do have anxiety/panic, but I don't think that the lexapro really made it that much better for me. I am on week 4 of this program, and I'm really encouraged that I will be able to use these coping skills to continue medication-free.
I Am Worth It!

I was on Lexapro for a month or so but had to get off as I was having such obsessive thinking, it was driving me even more nuts. I liked it otherwise. Anyway, I just wanted to say about lesson 3, give yourself time. I thought the self talk all sounded like lies too but soon it became habit and it really does work. This whole program does work but like breaking a bad habit, you have to give it time and lots of repetition.
