How do YOU keep your depression at bay?

Anyone suffering from depression may post their history, experience, comments and/or suggestions. Please refrain from indepth discussions about medicines or other therapies.

I have had depression for quite a while, and my mom suggested I use peppermint essential oil mixed with lotion on my face to help things lighten up a bit and it really has helped.

I have bi-polar. Today is Monday and I have been spiraling since Saturday. I have tried and tried to think positive thoughts but the negative just keeps coming up. I just started session 3 today, I need to get a journal. This is helping me to feel better. I just got this computer and I'm trying to learn it.

When I'm depressed I eat, therefore I am very overweight, but doing this helps me to not be hungry. I have very bad knees and need new ones but the Dr's won't replace them until I've lost weight. I'm in a catch 22 how do I exercise to lose weight when I can't exercise?
