Tracy, I just got off the wagon you are on. I am in session 6 now and I have weaned myself off Cymbalta and Xanax in the last 2 weeks. I have stopped all caffeine and reduced sugar in my diet. I am also exercising daily. I, too, needed coffee to prop me when taking Xanax. It is a vicious cycle. I hope you have started the program, because it is the fear of having a panic attack that is keeping you on the Xanax. Soon you will know how to deal with your anxiety and it will become less of a problem and you will probably be able to come off the Xanax. When you are ready to come off, you should give up caffeine with it. You don't need any stimulants in your body when you have anxiety. I agree with perhaps cutting back your dose a bit. It may cause you to start feeling a little anxious a bit, but use your new skills and try to make it work. It is working for me and it has worked for a lot of other people.

I mean look at me. I've been suffering for 4 years. I've been on Xanax XR for 2 years and Cymbalta for a year and after 6 weeks of this program I am no longer afraid of panic attacks (I haven't even had one!) and I am off all medication. I am a little tired most likely due to the transition I am making, but I would rather be a little tired than anxious. I hoped I helped you. Good luck.

Debbie
