Face picking

I thought that I was the only one with this problem that I too have had since a kid. My mother and husband all have tried to force my hands away from my face and fingers when I guess I am obsessed with how I look. My husband got me this stuff from Swisa Spa that has a mineral with Dead Sea Salt to cleanse my skin and is helping. I heard to wash your face twice a day and it is common to have acne in ages 30 to 50 which I pray that I do not have. I am 33 now. I still have the blackheads and can't stand them.

Thanks again everyone for all your advise and to know that I am not alone. Everyone's comments were helpful. I am going to look into the book too that you mentioned nitz26911. I am 32 myself AmandaJ---I thought that we were suppose to grow out ance/blackheads once we hit adulthood!! I did have the urge today after I took a shower. But, I looked in the mirror and said "ok you can look but don't touch." I got out the tweezers instead and cleaned up my eyebrows. I kept my thoughts to what I was told on this post. I can do this...I thought. Then I thought about how I needed to read for a class while my daughter took a nap. So I stopped once I felt the eyebrows looked better and read. Thanks again everyone!
My sister picks her toenails.

"O God, you are my God. Earnestly I seek you;my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is BETTER than life,my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name, I will lift up my hands." Psalms 63
I have had acne problems for as long as I coild remember. Only recently have I had a brakethrough in control. I startes to make my own products. Its kinda going back to the basics. Wash my face with Baking soada, mixed with Peroxide and Which Hazel. Always in the shower when your skin is the most moist. For an astringent if you choose 100% lemon Juice. It will sting! For a moisterizer use only 100% Emu Oil. Good Luck!!!
I'm proud of you Amy, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!Originally posted by Amy H:

Wow, this topic really hit home for me. My anxiety and panic attacks became impossibly bad when I started having cystic acne (about 4 years ago). That's when OCD kicked in too. I'm obsessed with my skin. It's all I think about. I look in the mirror hundreds of times a day (not kidding) and just stare at my skin. I have anxiety 100% of the time about my skin. And if I even think I'm getting a new cyst in, I have panic attacks. I completely freak out because I am so afraid it's a sign my skin is going to get worse and worse. I'm actually pretty good at not picking at my blemishes though. The urge is very strong too, but I think the sheer terror and panic I have about my skin getting worse, keeps me from picking at them.
