lightheaded and heart flutters
I have been lightheaded for almost a year now. The doctors think its inner ear trouble but can inner ear trouble last that long? It scares me because i feel like i'm stuck like this for the rest of my life. My heart also flutters about once a week. I've had all kinds of test done ekg, echo, heart monitor, blood test and it all came back normal. I'm really worried because i'm only 23 and i'm scared i have a serious medical problem.

I GET HEART FLUTTERS A FEW TIMES A MONTH AND ALL MY TESTS ARE NORMAL TOO. DR. SAYS ITS NORMAL TO HAVE THIS. I DEFINATELY GET IT WITH ANXIETY.
I HAD THE LIGHTHEADED SYMPTOM TOO EARLEIR THIS YEAR FOR 6 MONTHS. I HAD ALL SORTS OF TESTS DONE AND NOTHING CAME UP. DR. SAID IT WAS ANXIETY. ONCE I ACCEPTED IT WAS ANXIETY IT WENT AWAY. I STILL GET IT NOW A COUPLE TIMES A MONTH, BUT I KNOW ITS ANXIETY, SO I DO THE BREATHING AND POSITIVE SELF TALK AND IT USUALLY GOES AWAY IN 20 MINUTES OR SO.
HAVE YOU SEEN AND ENT DR? ANXIETY SYMPTOMS CAN MIMIC OTHER CONDITIONS AND IT CAN BE COMFUSING AND SCARY. I'VE BEEN TO SO MANY DRS AND THEY ALL SAY THE SAME THING-ANXIETY. HANG IN THERE AND DO THE PROGRAM. IT WILL HELP.

I know exactly what you are describing. I had the same issue early on. I went to the doctor and had my ears checked and they were fine. However I due tend to get fluid in my inner ear like you mentioned and my doctor said that it is usually caused by an allergy. Maybe seeing an allergist as well as working through the anxiety would help? The heart fluttering happens a lot less often since I removed MSG or monosodium Glutamate from my diet. I use to have them almost everyday, my allergist suggested removing MSG and it has really helped.

Hi there! I've had flutters for several years now; anxiety or could be hormonally related; I get them more often during pms. I also make sure I am not breathing shallowly (if that's a word) and try to relax and they go away RIGHT away! I've been to two docs about it and walked around with a heart monitor for 48 hours and everything was perfectly normal!
As for the ears, I have that too and am dealing with it now and have for weeks. I always do during spring and summer when AC goes on. My doctor told me to see an allergist which I am in a couple of week for testing, etc. It's the worst it's ever been for me and I live in the worst possibly place in the country right now for it (outside of Portland, OR).
Just makes sure you are breathing and not holding your breath, do some breathing exercises (if you have an iPod there's several on iTunes you can download) and I am SURE while your symptoms may not completely go away, they will subside somewhat!
Take care!
