I'm on Dostinex, to lower my prolactin count. After thorough testing, including CT scan for a brain tumor, the doctors couldn't find out what was causing this condition. I've read that stress can be a cause. Anybody else out there experience this?

I'm not a physician, but since you were prescribed Dostinex (generic: cabergoline), your doctor could have prescribed this drug as a prophylactic just in case you have a microprolactinoma (a small benign tumor) too small to show up on a CT scan).

As a female, if you experience amenorrhea and/or galactorrhea, you should consult your physician about the advisability of getting an MRI which can reveal a small pituitary tumor not detectable by CAT scan.

Excellent information is available on the Pituitary Society Website. Diagnosis of prolactinoma and more information is outlined here:

Misdiagnosis is common--a second opinion is well worth the additional expense.

Yes, I have a microprolactinoma. My tumor did not show up on tests either, but I was told that is likley the cause. I was on dostinex as well and after 2 months my prolactin levels were back to normal. Then I got pregnant and after pregnancy my levels have remained low so I no longer need to take Dostinex.
