zoloft withdrawl?
Hi just need such help. I have been taking 50 mg of Zoloft for 2 years. I recently started weaning off of it. I started at 50 then 25 now I a a 12.5 mg. For the past week I have been getting these awful dizzy spell that come out of nowhere. It is really scaring me. It's not like the spacey dizzy felling. It;s like I feel like a sudden jolt in my head and the I feel like I'm spinning. Kinda like when you twirl yourself arond and around on a chair and then stop. You feel all dizzy. That's how I feel. Has anyone had this before? I'm just really freaking out! Could this be a withdrawl symptom?
Yes, it definitely could be.
You have to wean off very, very slowly.
I wish you luck with reducing your medication.
You might try some herbal rememdies to relieve
some of the withdrawal symptoms. Just to help you along.
But the main thing is to go very slowly with the reduction of the medicine.
Enlist the aid of your doctor might be wise.

OH, Yes. Without a doubt. I had forgotten to take my Zoloft (50mg) for three days after the birth of my second child and whammo - the SPINS. The DIZZINESS. Cold sweat. Horrible.
Total withdrawal symptom. As the others have suggested, maybe you need to wean even slower. Please keep us apprised of your progress!

YEP THAT SOUNDS LIKE WITHDRAWL TO ME, INFACT IT IS THE REASON I HAVE NEVER SUCCESSFULLY GOTTEN OFFF MY ZOLOFT, EVERYTIME I TITRAIT DOWN AND I THINK IM DOING IT SLOW ENOUGH THEN I STOP AND THE HORRIBLE DIZZINESS AND OTHER WEIRD SENSATIONS START, LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE ABLE TO GET OFF AND HOW LONG THESE SYMPTOMS LAST! GOOD LUCK!
Thanks everyone for your replies. I had been trying to wean off slowly but I guess that didn't help much. I had to go back to taking 25mg of Zoloft instead of 12.5mg that I was taking. I was was doing OK until recently when the nasty dizzy spells began. It still scares me but at least now I know that it's probably just withdrawl. I guess I'll just have to start over and wean off even slower.
hi everyone, i was also weaning myself off of zoloft and completely stopped taking it 3 days ago. Since then ive had those same brain jolts and like buzzing in my head. Ive also been extremely tired and moody. Has anyone else had this? so annoying!!! I figure though that if i survived my awful anxiety and intrusive thoughts i can survive this crap too. I want to be off the medication since mentally i feel good. i was on 75 milligrams for over a year...

I have been on zoloft for five months now and now that I am starting the program I will definitely be working toward the day that I can get away from it. What you have all shared is going to be very helpful for me. Thank you. Although the zoloft has been helpful in dampening the daily anxiety it has not helped with the situations that cause panic attacks. I will tell you this; zoloft has seriously effected my motivation.
