:? I have been taking Lexapro, Lamitical, Tranzene, Requip, Provigil, for my mild (dr. says) bi-polar; sleep disorder, depression, anxiety attacks. When and how do I try to get off these medications? Or should I just bite the bullet and take them. I was suicidal before taking these and it took about six months before I got any better.

I would discuss with your doc. Going off the meds can make the symptoms return with a vegenance. Perhaps you can wean off of some of the meds and still take some?? If you are truly bipolar, a chemical imbalance is occuring, and meds may be needed to help regulate that.

:)Thanks. My doctor says the extension cord in my head has a short in it. Sometimes it connects and sometimes it doesn't. He says my depression is caused by my DH who is constantly putting me down, thus low self esteem, thus depression. So, I will talk to him about reducing the meds. $700. a month is a lot of cost. My DH constantly complains about it. However, the Prescription D Insurance pays half. Silvia
