I have had issues with my blood pressure from time to time but have never been "formally" diagnosed. It runs through my family severely. I am on a low dose anti-anxiety med, and that has helped some, however, at times I can tell when my pulse and blood pressure rises. I hope that I never have to go on another med. however if it will help I won't argue. It seems that anxiety has such an effect on health issues that it is hard to diffrenciate between what is a blood pressure issue for me or just anxiety. I will continue to keep a check on it. Take care!

WOW luv2shop I am going through that right now!
Each time I have been to my doctor my blood pressure has been in normal range.......but look out when an anxiety/panic attack comes it RISES like the sun....lol...lol...So my doctor put me on a low dose beta blocker as a reserve level so if and when I experience some challenges with anxiety the blocker kicks in. Of course now I have been compulsive with the blood pressure monitor at home and so far so good. I do take the monitor to my doctor so he see's the readings. I think your Doctor is right about the ssri. My doctor did want me on an ssri but I have bad reactions to them so I take xanax and a beta blocker and I BREATH as much as possible and of course I pray. If I can just take the xanax on schedule then I would be better..... :eek:Remember those with high blood pressure, there pressure stays UP it doesn't come down after an hour or so.....those with anxiety it comes up and then it comes down with a little time sometimes immediately sometime an hour or so............Either way normal and calmness is the key....

Blessings
