I and my doctors honestly thought this was all anxiety, the heartburn and indigestion, anxiety and panic, not being able to eat much now since Thanksgiving.

Then I had my first gallbladder attack :( The ultrasound showed no stones, but sludge. I am now taking medication to hopefully remove the sludge or I may have to have the gallbladder removed.

In one way I feel relieved knowing what part of the cause is, but yet feel very depressed. Not being able to each more than rice cakes, veg soup and cream of rice is really getting to me, along with that this has been going on for almost 2 months now.

Don't know what to do to get past this depression and I really don't want to take more meds. Plus the one I was given, Doxepin was just horrible. My GP gave me Paxil, but there again just don't want to take more meds, but I did take paxil the last time I had bad anxiety and depression back in '99 and it worked then.

I have been unable to work and the financial stress is getting to me as well.

Any suggestions?

Hi Laura

I don't have a lot of answers but I do want to address the financial stress you mention. You said you have been unable to work. Does that mean you can't work at all, or you cannot go to your current job? The reason I ask is I had to leave corporate America because of health reasons but I have been able to find flexible work that lets me work when I can and have down time when I can. I know several legitmate resources for this type of work (and I'm not talking about sales or anything where you have to pay a fee). Right now work is slow for me mainly because I no longer have a car and most of my work was in the field. I am now applying to work from my home computer as a CSR. If you would like some info you can send me a private message. The financial strain does add to the stress. BTW, I had the gallbladder problem years ago and had to have it removed. Good luck with that.

Sheila
