pills not working anymore.....??

i've been on ativan since about may. I only took .5 mg once a day for about the first 6 months i was on them, but wasn't fully helping with my anxiety. i'm up to .5 2-3 times a day lately, and just doesn't feel like there helping anymore. what should i do? this happend to anyone before??

Hey There,
I can only speak from MY own experiance...I've took anxiety meds. for awhile. For me they have gotten weaker over time and my doc. upped the dose but not much! My doc. told me that these types of meds were never meant for longterm use. You can get dependant on them.
Make sure you read the pharmacy pamplet w/prescription. It will tell you about this and much more.
btw: I take Klonopin it's more of a slow release med. I don't think activan stays in your system as long so you may feel nervous more often.
Talk to your doctor...that's the best advice I can give for sure.
