Has anyone thought they had lung problems due to the shortness of breath. Have been experiencing shortness of breath and tightness in the chest as long as I can remember. I had also had a chronic cough. Thought I was having asthma attacks or worse yet my doctor had me tested for COPD (lung disease) but the results came out negative. My lungs are healthy and I have had to relearn how to breath properly without hyperventilating. Just wanted some shared stories.:)

Hi Lisa,
tot
This was a symptom of my anxiety. I would feel like i couldn't take a deep breath, so i would keep over breathing so i would feel like my lungs had filled for a big breath. I became totally fixated on my breathing. It can make you dizzy, as you are hyperventilating, it made my muscles in my chest and back ache, because i was breathing so hard. I went to the docs, and he sent me home with an inhaler, which i didn't take, as meds freak me out. I knew that it was my anxiety, because when i wasn't obsessing about it, i was fine. I just really tried to downplay it to myself, and speak positively to myself, and it helped alot.

I notice when i get into stressful situations, my breathing changes, and i become more aware of it. Hope this helped a little. Good luck.

Wow You are the first person I have known to have the same symptom as me because I thought I did too some times I breath normal and then sometimes I breath exactly what you just explained its uncomfortable and it limits me from traveling and other stuff. I notice I only get it when I am doing to much or stressed. what about you?

I know exactly how you feel. I have had shortness of breath since Sept which started a roller coaster of things. Anxiety panic attacks the same thing everyone else gets.
Well I am gettting better and better but I still have the shortness of breath. I have read up a lot of different things and I still think for me it is because I am low in iron. I had the doctor check my iron reserves, also I heard if you are low in your B vitiams it will cause shortness of breath.
I have been taking Root beet to help my iron and I notice that it helps my breathing.
I had all the tests your can think of and they said my lungs were good. I notice it gets worse during that time of the month too.
I can be happy and still have it. Have the doctor check your iron and iron reserves. I think I spelled that right hahah
I know exactly how you feel. I get it where sometimes my face gets tingly and a little numb like when you go to the dentist and the stuff wear off.
Keep in touch.
