Morning anxiety
I'm new here and have ordered the program. I started having anxiety about 2 years ago. I learned some coping techniques and have been able to live a normal life with little to no anxiety. I've recently had a relapse and I find the morning anxiety almost unbearable. I sleep very well at night but wake up in the morning with a sense of dread. I'm a stay at home mom but find being alone very difficult. I get the kids off to school and sometimes manage a walk with the dog but lately I'm finding it difficult to get out. I take yoga twice a week and am finding myself wanting to get out of that as well. I do have xanax which I'm always reluctant to take but am thinking that maybe I should take a little so I can get out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello dw6692-
As a fellow stay at home mom who would rather duck out of stuff as well---- DON'T. Any time that you stay home and fret, the anxiety wins. I think that the program will be very helpful to you. It was to me. And also a book called "Freedom from Fear by Dr. Howard Leibgold." Both talk about the same goal and explain how to get there differently. Avoiding will prolong your suffering, but venture out with the tools that you will learn about, and you are on your way back to a healthy life. Stopping the negative thought when you recognize it, breathe deeply, and tell yourself the truth. And keep on going. Pretty soon the being alone and walking the dog will feel normal and natural and will provoke no anxiety.
Good luck to you. Please PM me if you'd like.
