I am pretty sure I'm hypoglycemic based on what a counselor told me about my symptoms.

I want to continue with a low-blood-sugar diet but the one she gave me is TOOO strict.

Anyone have good books or web sites with realistic diets?

I don't know of a book or a website, but I've found that I can control my hypo by making sure I always get enough protein (about 10 complete grams per meal), and setting my phone alarm to where I eat every four hours and don't forget.

As for what I eat, I just follow the basic rules of a healthy diet. Fresh, whole foods as much as possible and as little bad fat as possible.

Thanks. . .those sound like good ideas.

The weirdest thing happened yesterday. I haven't rally had sweets in over a week and i had a few spoonfuls of ice cream (like 2 ounces) and about an hour later I got really mad at my daughter about something and overreacted and yelled at her. I felt terrible about it.

I'm wondering if it was the sugar. My husband thinks it was just coincidence but I'm not so sure.

Now I'm wondering if I have to add to my 'no caffeine' rule and say no sugar either.

It feels a little bit like avoidance which I don't like to do. . . but I guess if it's diet that's a different thing. I mean, nobody needs sugar.

I have been feeling better since I've been more careful about what I eat.
