I am at work and I have still been doing pretty well with dealing with my anxiety. Well I work at a clinic and I for some reason thought that I remembered talking to a patient and that she had cancelled her appointment for this morning. Well my boss had some free time so she went to grab a bite to eat and the patient showed up when she was gone! I had to call her and tell her the patient was here and I didn't want to seem like it was my fault so I tried to think of something to say. Long story short I ended up apologizing and admitting it was my mistake. When the patient was finished with her appointment she came to the front desk to verify her next appointment and I had misplaced the appointment book!!! I felt so helpless and lost! She asked me "Whats going on? Is everything okay?" Now, once again I am in a confused state of mind and I am scared. I didn't sleep well last night because my baby is sick but I am afraid that there is something wrong with me because I am so confused. Anyone relate???

First off, don't beat yourself up over making a mistake. We all make them. If you are like the rest of the world, you will have others I am sure. :)

You just have to say to yourself, hey I made a mistake today, so what, no biggie, I can get past this, I have learned from my mistake and will try and do better next time. You did the right thing in telling your boss the truth. I can only imagine how nervous you would have been if you didn't. So be proud that you stood up admitting making a mistake. But move on and don't let it bother you. I am sure your boss didn't give it much thought either. Take care.

Ken's right. It took guts for you to tell the truth to your boss, so kudos to you for doing that!

And the appointment book was found, so all was well there.

I'm sure that you're not only overtired but anxious about your baby being sick and your mind is probably pre-occupied with that. That's OK, that's your baby and you're entitled. Our brains can only compute so much at one time, you know? You're going to be OK. :)

Thank you both very much for the replies!! I feel much better and even though I am now experiencing dizzyness and the like I am using it as an opportunity to use my skills. I am telling myself it is all anxiety and is here because I was upset. Your replies mean alot to me. Thank you again.

Good for you for using your skills! :)

I'm barely into the program and I catch myself using some of the skills already. It's pretty amazing.
