I am new here. My head has felt very wierd for 15 years......so much so that it stops me from working, socializing and the feeling is 24/7..even scared to drive. Does anyone have this symptom......it gets worse when I go into stressful situations..........I also have insomnia.........some relief from this with meds but pretty much a prisoner.......can anyone relate to all this? Also, I tell people I have colds or flus to avoid telling them the truth........anyone....?? Thank you........EM

I don't know if I understand what you mean by weird feeling in your head but I am afraid to drive. It is actually my biggest problem at the moment. Do you have Lucinda's program?

Hi:
I used to have that weird head all time.
So I definitely know what you are talking about.
I don't have it much anymore. I don't know what I did to stop it.
I think it went a way gradually when I quit having so much stress.
You see I got older and my life is simpler now.
My responcibility is so much less.
I used to get it when I'd try to get my house all cleaned up. It would force me to stop and be quiet.
But this won't help you because you haven't yet gotton to my place in life. I'll be 80 in December.
But at least I can tell you that I did suffer with that terribly and understand.

Yes, I can relate with you, calendergirl. I have that weird head feeling a lot and it gets worse when I get anxious. I tend to tell people I have the flu or a cold a lot too. But I'm trying to stop that. My husband has encouraged me to be honest with people about it and let them know what I'm feeling instead of telling lies. Its not easy for me to always do but it does help in the long run. To help with the weird head issue, I've found that if my husband gently massages the back of my neck, that really helps. He is very supportive and will do this in stressful situations to help calm me down. And I always carry lavender essential oil with me and put it on my wrists and smell it when I need some help with relaxing. Also, if you don't have the program yet, get it! That will definitely help you work through a lot of this, as it has for me. I'm not 100% yet but definitely a lot better than where I was a few months ago!! Hope that helps you.

Calendergirl,
Well as I said I am working on it, and I am getting better but at my worst I would get nervous and feel sick to my stomach before I ever got in the car. While driving I was nervous, scared, I have OCD also so always double checking. Would pull over at store parking lots or road side parks alot. And if I got real bad while I was pulled over I would cry. And I don't normally cry very easy. I would just get so mad at myself. Now I just get real nervous about driving and try to avoid going by myself but if I do I don't go far and I'm just nervous mostly. Doing lots better. I don't know if I told you earlier but Carolyn Dickman has a CD you can get at Stress about driving, has good stuff on it. What happens to you when you drive?

I to feel like my head is uncontrollable at times like I can not control the thoughts like Im losing my mind. I sometimes need to pull over and get out the car and walk it out because I puts me back to reality that I am ok. If I sit too long with too much idle time thats when it happens but if I am busy Im ok to an extent you know? So you are not alone.
