my favorite scripture for peace

Post by mramirez10 » Sun May 01, 2011 7:41 pm

Here is one of my favorite scriptures that is helping me with this anxiety. John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Another one in the same chapter is: John 14: 18 "I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you." One of my problems with this anxiety is that I don't like to be alone. It is scriptures like these that remind me that I never have to be alone. My Heavenly Father is always there for me. All I have to do is pray. Sometimes the peace comes emidiately as I think of the love my Savior has for me and I am comforted as promised in these scriptures. And sometimes it takes a little longer, but I always will feel His peace eventually.

Mramirez I to find this comforting. When we believe we will see our recovery. God wants us to rely, lean on Him this brings us closer to Him. Jesus lives in us & works through us. Remember we are the head & not the tail & the devil has no power over us.

God Bless you all

Thank you for the quotes. May I ask what kind of anxiety you have? I just want to find people like me. I have generalized anxiety. I am less or more ok on highways, malls, etc. I mean I do feel stressed out but I can cope. I can fly and all that. My main thing is at work because a) I am being watched by superiors, co-workers, etc. b) because it's hectic from both the inside politics and from dealing with customers, suppliers, etc. I need peace. And work is the antonym of that:) :(

I have general anxiety (& depression @ times). When I first got the program it was hard for me to got to work, out to eat, ect. I did do everything , but my being was racing all the time. I was uncomfortable anywhere I was. I now know it is just the condition & I inhale & remind myself that the Holy Spirit lives in me. I tell myself God loves me & I love me & everything is just fine.

Take Care
