You think after doing this to myself on so many occasions that I would finally figure out that I'm fine!
I went to the doctors today because I've been getting hives when I exercise, that I wasn't so concerned about but I developed this weird red line/mark on my ankle a few days ago and it hasn't gone away. I've been worrying on and off about this, it wasn't too bad until I got to my appointment and was SO worried over it. I showed him and he told me it was just open vessels under the skin and that they would go away. Ugh, I felt so stupid for worrying the way I did and imagining all these awful things. I told him I had been worried about it and he was like "why??" It's nothing.
I feel like I've gotten a lot better in other ways but my health anxiety still gets the best of me.
Whenever I'm reassured I feel like okay, I'm fine now. But I know if something else comes up, I'll most likely worry about it. How can I stop this? I try and positive self talk and it just can't seem to defeat the fear.

In order to get over this type of phobia (or any phobia for that matter) you will need to NOT have things checked out by a professional. You know what this means. It means being with your anxiety about not checking something out. It will take a few times but eventually, through perseverence, you will overcome this fear.
