No, I unfortunately didn't catch the show. About ten years back I went to a local fair and they had a Lego display where people had build all sorts of amazing things. I remember when I was a kid, we bought all sorts of sets and just mixed them all together in a big box. I had much more fun creating my own stuff than following the directions and making what the set had in mind.

As it turns out, I am a piano player so I don't have much need for a player piano. But I did have a friend in grade school whose parents bought an antique player piano, so I have seen them. It was the type where it ran on air and you had to pump foot pedals that filled a bellows to make it play. Pretty cool technology for the time it was made.

I'm with you on stepping up my efforts. I'm just not where I want to be. I know that the only thing stopping me is my own fears and self doubt. I have to let go of them because keeping them isn't helping in any way. It's time to take our lives back. Time isn't slowing down and each moment that passes is a moment lost. I'm not going to let any more pass be by. I'm not sure how I'm going to change things up, but change I will. It's time.

Jamie,
I think that is great you play piano! I was in marching band in high school. I played clarinet. It has been years sense I picked one up. I was not that good, but did okay enough to make it in marching band.
I love this time of the year, Friday nights hearing the band play at the football games. They sound good this year!

Too bad you missed that show. One guy was a lawyer he followed his dream and quit and did portraits of people with legos! Can you imagine what his wife and family said when he said he quit! LOL... To play with bricks, plastic ones...LOL...Kinda like "close encounters"!

I posted this message in another section but I thought I'd share it here too.

I had a success of sorts this evening. I decided to go for a night time bike ride as sunset is getting so early these days. I borrowed my partners bike light and headed out. About halfway the way home I got a flat tire. I don't carry anything with me to fix it, so I was stuck about three miles from home. Furthermore, I was on a part of the trail where I had to go about three quarters of a mile in either direction to get to a place where my partner could pick me up.

At first I started to panic. But I was able to calm myself down and picked a direction and started walking. I ended up going away from home because I thought I could reach an area where I could be picked up a little faster that direction. While I was frustrated that my ride didn't go so well, I was pleased with how I handled things. Thank goodness for cell phones! By the way, walking in bike shoes with cleats really sucks!

Yeah, I've played piano since I was about five. My grandparents really wanted me to play and bought me an old upright piano. Turns out that I'm pretty musically inclined and really enjoyed it. I've been playing ever since. I won't say that I'm spectacular, but I do pretty well. It's just a hobby and makes me happy. I've played at a few functions like weddings and such but other than that it's just for me and my family. I still have the same piano my grandparents bought for me, granted it's thirty years older.

I guess all I can say for the lawyer becoming a lego artist is good for him. If he's happy and can still support himself and his family then I can only say good things. In fact, I'm a bit jealous! I guess I just need to spend some quality time back in the sandbox, LOL!

ok fine SeaRunner...you're not old, but you CAN definitely see the top of the hill ! LOL

The next time you go for a bike ride, bring a comfortable pair of running shoes ! Sounds like you would've been better off going for one of those Sea Runs ! Congratulations on not freaking out.

How is the work thing going ? Are you putting in more time at the office now ?

I bought a pair of roller blades. The guy asked me if I wanted some knee pads. I said " Nope, I'll be just fine". As I was driving home, there was a kid (about 10 -12 years old) truckin' along on his roller blades. Well....he hit the curb and went down on his knees ! The look on the kid's face was something I'll never forget. I drove around the block and went back to the store to get knee pads. I still cringe when I think of the kid that busted a curb with his knees. I haven't gone rollerblading yet because every time I try to go, I think of that kid. Maybe if I buy a big tube of bubble wrap...........and maybe elbow pads...and a helmet...........................and a cup......

THH ! I remember that song real well....1985. The dogs were pretty awesome too ! I don't know who the singer of that version of the song was though.

One song that they played in Canada quite a bit in 1988-1989 was this one. I haven't heard it on the radio since then, but it always put me in a good mood.

Way to go on handling things, great!! I think that speaks volumes about how you are working that program and it does work when you work it. I am proud of you. Sorry about the shoes. Maybe regular sneaks next time? Do they have fix a flat for bikes? Anywhoo you done good :-)
