Oh Charlie,
I think I would tell them I withdraw my ap that I can't deal with a company with so much paper work. Tell them I can get a government job much much easier! LOL.... It really is bulls%*&!

I think your in the finals for sure, going for "Best of Breed"! LOL... :D

Maybe look in some old pant pockets to see if you have a book of matches with the company logo, see if they will except that one! HaHA!

Did you get you blood test and skin sample from the back of you neck yet? They may want it???

I seriously would take a look to see if you really want to work at this new place? :?

I'd say your doing well all considered so what the heck getting a little help no big deal. It really has been a adventure...Hang in there don't worry! ;)
One day at a time....

It is now 3:08 PM Eastern and no word yet.

You got that right: It really is b******t.

If I mentioned the name of this 90 year old company that maintains this ass-backward background check firm, you'd be very surprised. Tomorrow will be exactly one month since I was extended the job offer by the sales manager, and the BC is still putzing around. I have heard background checks that were either 3-7, or 10-14 days long. This one? I'll be in Depends by the time they finish.

It's funny you mentioned about a blood and skin sample. I asked my wife, "Why don't I give them a blood sample. They already have my urine." (from the drug test.) My cousin also asked about whether I want to be associated with the company.

I haven't called my friend in Albany about when my UI benefits are supposed to end. I can't take that news right now.

Right now I am just chilling out with a cup of coffee and the History channel. I've been praying for strength. I also asked if I could get a reason/sign why everything with me is the hard/long/delayed way. I have been way more anxious than depressed.

If the HR guy calls, he calls. If he doesn't, he doesn't. I am planning to send out my resume again this weekend.

BTW: I slept twelve hours last night .

Interestingly, while typing this message I got a call from another company that I had an interview with in mid-August. I followed up a bunch of times with the recruiter, and she never got back to me so I wrote this one off. Now "Lazarus" returns from the "dead?" We shall see. At least it gives me a little hope offsetting the current BS.

Thanks for the support THH.

Charlie,
Boy you got that right with the BS! :)

I think you need to change your prayer, not for strength, but a vision, a path that is smooth sailing! LOL... :D
You have got to be about as strong as you can be to deal with this loooooongggg saga! Just crazy.

Would it not be really funny if you got hired on the spot someplace really great while they are farting around looking for your cover letter! :D

Ya gotta laugh Charlie Brown, one day you will for sure. You deserve too! Hard to believe they have been around 90 years! LOL... Maybe thats their problem. The old guys memory is playing games with everyone. ;)

It's over. The company has denied my application based on the findings of their crack background firm. In yesterday's mail was the letter. I will be finding out where the problem was since I am entitled to know about the report data.

I am not sad or mad. I do though feel tired and like I had been played like a Steinway piano. Them not contacting my college, their lies about supposedly trying to email and phone me, the BS with the letterhead--all baloney. I also feel relieved, now that's all over with.

I am going to veg out with TV tonight and worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

GALL

The company contact called me first on my cell, and when I didn't answer there he rang my home #. I did pick up that either. He didn't even leave a VM on either phone. I knew it was him by the caller ID.

What the hell is he going to say? "I'm sorry?" Sorry for the outcome, the BS, or for playing me like a Steinway piano or all of the above?

You'll see the snowball in Hell before I speak to him.
____

Today I am just taking things slow. I have been mildly depressed on and off, but this is to be expected. I am taking my Lexapro and being kind to myself.

I also faxed a request from that crack background company to send me a copy of the report. I hope this is done soon so I can see where was the glitch and not readjusted my resume.

I will be ok.

OH Charlie,
You didn't want to work for that kind of BS company anyway! LOL

I know its tuff to lead you on and make you jump and dance and sing while standing on your head, but forget about it! :D

Think up another plan. Good for you being kind to yourself! And you will be Ok. Good for reconizing that.
Regroup and go on...We are all here for you! :)

Thanks for the message, THH.

Now I am feeling some bitterness. At no one in particular (well, maybe the background check company). I am bitter at going through the Stupid Pet Tricks and then not getting the gig.

Again: I will be alright.

Oh Charlie Brown, I am so sorry about all the crap you've had to deal with! It may not seem like it but it is probably a blessing.......I totally agree with THH, you did not need to work for those people. I still believe God has something awesome in store for you, I'm sure you're tired of hearing this but - Hang in there!

Thanks for the post.

Sunday night I made a decision not to be mad at God. I could easily go off on a tangent against Him but I don't have that feeling in me.
