SeaRunner, We do! Amazing as that sounds.
My life felt like it was wanting more, and I could not find anyone to do fun things with, so I just stayed home. I am going to a dog class with one dog I have 2 Labs and training him for a therapy dog. I could go to local nursing homes, or childern hospital to bring happy slobers to those going through tuff times. If you love animals it would be something to look forward to them coming to see you. I have to really work on my health anxiety for me, as that one is one of my bigger what ifs to be able to be around sick people. My one dog has the best personality for this. Even if I just make it to the certification I'll be thrilled!

I have to follow through or I will only have my unhappy self to blame. I'm using my skills that I have learned in this program. I'm trying hard anyway. And meeting nice people along the way. After class we always eat! LOL...

Manofmusic,
SALUTE!!!! :D
GREAT JOB!!!!

I have had the migrines, like your describing, with out the headache. 20 min, is my time too. I went to the dentist, he made me a bite plane you wear at bedtime. I guess being a clincher/ tooth grinder can cause it.( Tension ) Its always good to go get things checked out. Its helped 98%. I used to get the headache it was so bad I really thought I was gonna die. They used to give you caffine. Excedrine. Caffergot.

Keep up the great work! ;)

Mike, about your journals, I have only recently started writing the negative thoughts down and then countering them. I filled several pages a day. What I have decided to do is once a day or so after i replace the negative with the positive, I shred it. those thoughts are gone, reworked , and I don't want to keep them. And I definately don't want just anyone reading them.

I will recover, I am recovering. Each and everything I do makes me more recovered. I will do everything I possibly can to recover in the most healthiest way because I refuse to live life based on fear, anxiety and depression anymore.

Its very easy to fill page after page if you are trying to replace all your negative thoughts. Your welcome to do that but even doing just 5 a day is sufficient. Some people like to destroy the thoughts and if that works then great. I like to keep mine so i can look back and see how much I've grown and also to show people who I was before I changed. Sometimes if i get stuck on how to replace the thoughts I can go back to my old spiral notepads and possibly find something from there to use. I can understand not wanting just anyone to read them. I started a new spiral notepad and wrote out alot of thoughts and replaced them and I got up to a certain page and someone had wrote in red ink, Ha. I have no idea who did that and ya it made me a little nervous but nothing happened from it so whatever.

Congratulations on a job well done! You're handling the situation at work beautifully. Isn't it empowering to set a goal and then see yourself accomplishing it? As they say, success breeds success, so expect more of it to come your way!

Also, I wanted to share with you that I have experienced a few ocular migraines. Like you, I get the visual symptoms but little or no headache. However, I thought it would comfort you to know that my particular symptom is a loss of vision in both eyes. I lose the ability to see anything in the upper left quadrant of my field of vision. The symptoms last about thirty minutes to an hour, then my vision returns to normal and I get a very mild headache.

I think it's wise for you to get confirmation from you doctor that you are indeed just experiencing an additional symptom of migraines and to rule out anything else. But I'm fairly confident that's all it will be. Don't let your imagination take over. Remember that the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

Glad to hear it. While it's clear you enjoy the company of your husband, it's very healthy to have other social outlets. What you described about your dogs sounds fantastic. Not only will have something to do by yourself, but you'll be helping others in the process. Good luck with your certification.

I also had similar symptoms, mostly 'flashes' of light and light sensitivity. I went to a retinologist (probably didn't spell that right), and he looked at my eyes with special scopes. Everything looked good and he explained how the eye functions, and why it is common for some people to get these symptoms.

If you ever have flashing lights or similar symptoms, try to find a retinologist or have your eye doctor refer you to one. I think it will give anyone with these issues peace of mind (at least it did for me). Make sure he/she explains the potential cause of your symptoms if indeed everyhting is 'normal'. I find that just knowing what's really going on helps me actually not even notice the symptoms most of the time!

Glad to hear it. You'll have to let us know how your appointment turns out. I really expect you to find out that everything is fine.

I hope your walk went well. It always feels so good when you can get outside and get moving rather than sitting at home.

Take care,
Jamie
