This symptom also comes from Optical Migraines also prone to anxiety sufferers..
You dont always get the headache so no one thinks its a migraine but optical migraines cause shooting bolts, dots that move..floaters..fuzzy vision that gets bad then clears up...squiggley lines..Got em all went thru tests and it was optical migraines..Worth a shot to see if that is it...
Good luck

HI Lee,

I think what you said is what I am experiencing. I don't really get a "headache' but really sore muscles all at the base of my neck and at the back of my head. So how do you get rid of optical migraines? Do they subside when our stress level goes down?
Thanks,
Chantal

An optical migraine or "ophthamologic migraine" is a migraine without the headache. These are like the symptoms I experience, except that they have a limited course or time to them. 20-60 minutes, I believe is what I was told. My visuals are constant, 24/7. That is why my doctor called it "migraine aura status". Status refers to continuous and aura is the term used to describe the visual phase of migraine headaches.

The term migraine is typically thought of as a painful headache, but really they can occur with no pain at all.

Chantal, are your visuals just temporary or continuous?

Lee, what about your visual migraines? Did they stop and start or were they continuous?

Thanks,
Melissa
