Pete777,
Here I go again! LOL :D

Eat & Exercise to Minimize Anxiety & Depression

* I don't need any extra zip & jazz.
* Garbage in - garbage out.
* I can change a habit
* I can take control of my health.
* I can cultivate patience.
* Exercise is self - fulfilling.
* I can practice healthy stress management.
* I will drink 8 glasses of water today.
*I am valuable.
* I take good care of myself

Side 2.
Lets get healthy:
1. Get a check up.
2. Honestly evaluate your diet. ( 5-6 servings of fruit and vegetables per day? Percent of fats? Sugar? Caffeine? Alcohol?) What we eat & drink becomes a part of us.
3. Begin an exercise routine - schedule it in writing.
4. Begin to eliminate stimulants. Do you need another perspective? Talk about "it" with a friend.

"Would you start your dogs day with a cup of coffee, a sugar do-nut, and a cigarette?"

I made it though!!!! Hope it helps you out!!! :mrgreen:

Well I only just happened upon this topic but it looks as though it's lively and fun ! I was excited to see someone else (Mike) who was referring to thought distortions he learned about from Dr. David Burns. I'm also a fan of Dr. Burns and have found his book FEELING GOOD a great help. I discovered it a couple of years ago. I did not read every entry on this topic (there are 11 pages !) but got the "gist" of it. Glad to see some good points, good advice, and alot of enthusiasm. I loved it ! Thanks, joanie P.S. Another great resource for anyone who likes to read is the book BEYOND ANXIETY AND PHOBIA by Dr. Edmund Bourne. It's kind of a workbook format but is more info. than workbook. It's very easy reading, too.
