Hi all,
What is the best anti-depressant?
Laughter
Why not try to find the joy that laughter can bring to you. No , ill side effects that I know except maybe p-ing on yourself might be a bit embarrassing, but nothing that a change of clothes can't take care of.

I just read an article put out by a reputable organization. It said Zoloft is the #1 prescribed med. in the US due to is success rate.

I was taking Zoloft for seven years. 100mg. of zoloft for two years. My dose was reduced to 50mg. for five years. The only reason I stoped taking this drug was, it killed my sex drive. Other then that there were no other side effects for me.

thanks jlb15, i've been taking sarafem for depression/pmdd and after 3 months started feeling really lethargic and unmotivated, kind of low lying depression too. I'm still on this but i think i'll try zoloft, don't think i've ever been on that. thanks again

Sorry jlb15,
I beg to differ with you. the article in the quotes should suffice to dis-spell notions of that this manufactured drug is the best b/c, in fact they serve to create many other problems as compared to the natural cure that laughter is. Best of all, no negative side effects in laughter and doesn't cost you anything.
Set aside you inhibitions or biases about the profanity that was bleeped out and tell me this isn't funny:

Antidepressants are different for everyone, it's hard to say which is the "best"
Some can work wonders for some people and do nothing for others, it really depends on what works for you.
I was on lexapro and it did nothing for me while it made someone i know online feel pretty good who had the same problems.
I am on cymbalta now and so far it is really good.
The best thing to do is to have a long discussion about anti depressants with your doctor and what would work best for you.
Good luck
