YIKES...Asian Tiger mosquitoes sound like a horror movie. They must come from China where we get most of our imports!!!! eeeewww!!!

I guess we do have a lot in common, huh???
Our "Tennessee Walker" is a very good "trotting" horse, and my hubby likes to ride him down through the Red River Gorge!!!

I am not much into getting onto something, which has a mind of it's own..LOL..Must be the "control" thing kicking in

Our "calico" is named "Sassy" so, I am sure you get the "drift"

And our "blue Persian" is named (Gracie)!!! Not a very Persian name.. .We basically went by her personality traits...LOL

The only type of bugs that I like are "fireflies" what us country folks call "lightening bugs"...

I do love camping out, riding 4-wheelers and that type of thing!!! In fact, I absolutely love (camping out)!!!

Those mud holes are my favorite...LOL..Wow, I sound just like a tom-boy..Tee Hee..

We have a Harley and I have rode it a few times with my hubby...That is fun!!!

Believe it or not, I used to make myself new "roads" when I owned my other jeep..Talking about fun, now that was FUN!!!

You can do that type of thing around here, nothing "illegal" about it, as far as I know...

All you have to do is find you an old dirt road, and look for some old grown up path, that hasn't been used in years and "truck on" taking the bushes, and everything in your pathway with you..LOL

I try my best to take better care of this Jeep, so, no more "making new roads for me" down in the boondocks!!!

After all, I can't afford to buy a new one...No way...Gotta be more careful this time...

And I absolutely love butterflies and birds!!!

Not to mention deer, elk, rabbits, squirrels..etc...the list really does just go on and on from here to eternity

When I say I am a "country girl" then, I must say that is "exactly" what I am!!!

BTW: I would absolutely love to "google" a picture of the "Red River Gorge" since, it is one of my favorite scenic drives and is just a "hop and skip" from here..

Maybe, that is one of the reasons why I liked you sooo well also, my dear friend !!!

Gotta run and try to find a photo for you of that "tunnel" that I love to drive through in the "gorge" area!!!

BTW: I love taking photos of nature, or filming it, so these are some "great hobbies" of mine...And I think I have basically told you my entire life's history

Hey, you can click on this link and see the "damage" the "major" snow and ice storm did to the gorge and it sure hit home to us too..No electricity for days..That was last January 2009...

There are pages and pages of pictures of Natural Bride and the "gorge" which are the same, since they are "part" of the National Daniel Boone Forest"...

Here is a another link, which gives a better view of the inside of the tunnel, although it is much longer...We always lay on our horns in there, it makes a nice "echoing" sound, and when you come out on the other end, the falls gives your vehicle a good washing...A very "refreshing" place to be!!!

You always have to use headlights in this tunnel and you have to stop to make sure no-one else in driving towards you, since this is a one way...Tee Hee..

There is a spring right before we get to the tunnel...We pull over and get us a "very fresh cold drink" of water from this spring...

Thanks for the pics Ms T Bones. Wow, it is gorgeous. I grew up in southwest Virginia, so I grew up close to the mountains. The mountains are gorgeous, the problem is the little town where I grew up is dying--there are no jobs. All the manufacturing has moved overseas.

I was also a tomboy as a kid--always climbing trees, riding my bike recklessly, going out into the woods for real long walks and runs. We had the Holston River behind our house and owned some horses. I trained some of them , breaking them into the halter, bridle, then saddle. It was really fun working with them. I trained one little mare that was so smart if you just shifted your weight, she would turn. Idyllic childhood if my mother wasn't a little whacko. She would tell us to disappear for the day, so we just ran around like wild Indians all summer and only went home to eat.

So you sound like you kind of are living my childhood every day, enjoying nature. That is neat.

Those Asian tiger mosquitoes got into the US in old tires with water in them according to the mosquito repeller guy. They are from the Far East and will sense the motion of a water buffalo and bite it. He said most mosquitoes bite you because they sense your carbon dioxide emissions. They are wicked little devils and the guy said wherever they get a foothold, they kind of take over. Hope they never get as far east as you live!

Wow Samcat, I bet you had a "ball" with those horses!!! I do know a little something about those "disappear" days...LOL

There were 5 of us children and you may say that we lived in the woods!!!

I absolutely loved running!!! I don't think I ever walked..LOL..

I loved swinging on those "grape vines" that was my very favorite thing to do!!!

I actually would climb up on top of a cliff and swing on a grapevine way out in the air, and there was a trailer below!!! Too crazy for me!!!

My mother never could see well, so she would just yell at us, not to be swinging on that grapevine and us "rascals" would do it again, just as soon as she walked inside

I also loved playing cowboys and Indians!!! We did that one a whole lot...Tee Hee!!!

I spent all of my childhood down in "deep hollers"...I mean very long ones!!!

We had a creek down below our house way down in the forest!!! I absolutely loved playing in that creek!!!

My dad built our first home when I was five and I grew up down in that holler and that is where my mother lives this very day

I still live in a holler, but not nearly as steep and long as the hollers I lived in as a child growing up!!!

Honestly, I wish I could go back there, if for one day!!! No concerns of any kind!!! The "sweet innocence of children"...

I don't think anyone has that perfect little life!!! I don't think it exists in our world, and that is the whole truth!!!

I have more than my share of heartaches and problems, my dear friend!!!
