Hello all-

I feel the CD is very good, having started using it again more lately, but use other relaxation CD's that are more effective for me most of the time. It also adds a little variety. A site that offers meditation/relaxation podcasts that, aside from the background noise, I've found helpful... www.audiodharma.org Guided meditations (left-hand column). Another site offering quick relaxation/breathing exercises... www.hws.edu click student life (top), the center for counseling & student wellness (left column), relaxation techniques (left column)

Expect to be struggling with any relaxation cd for the first bit. You aren't going to be a master at a new skill after using it a few times, thats not reasonable. We aren't good at quieting the mind and that is the goal for using the relaxation and so its more likely for it to be found difficult. You may feel that you don't get anything from it but how are you looking at it? On a scale of 1-10 do you have to have at least a 7 to say it is working for you?

I went through the program about 4 years ago and I still use the tape today. It is the best way for me to either beging the day or to take pressure off during the day.

for the negative thoughts my advice would be not to try to replace with a positive thought. Think of it this way...replace an irrational thought with a rational one. You may say something always happens to you, well tell yourself how you've had many diffrent outcomes. Or you what-if that something bad will happen, really how likely will that bad thing happen to you or anybody else? Find the rational response.

A Ninja video? tell me more?

If you're asking me how long i've been at it, 6 years.

thanks...that's a good way to look at it....some of this work related stuff can't seem to replace with a positive...so maybe looking at a rational thought would be better! thanks again! this stopping negative thoughts is tough.....i hope i can get beyond this stage!!!! A* U R !!!

So far i only listened to the first relaxation CD. i would have to say it okay for me at times during the period but I'll keep at it. My question is is there a specific time to switch the relaxation CD or you can just switch up as freely as you like. Help would bee most appreciated.

I like the relaxation CD. It is still a little awkward for me, but it does soothe and calm me. I think the main thing is the music in the background.
