My dizziness is starting again. Wondering if it could be sinus/allergy related. Of course, my anxiety is flaring up again to. Who knows~

Hi Shello,
I recently stopped using progesterone also due to some side effects I was having and I had have had more dizziness too. Must be some adjusting with our hormones creating a bit of a problem. I also deal with anxiety on top of going through the change so it can be hard to figure out what is causing what! I also get the fluid in my middle ear that causes off balance problems so I am dizzy/off balance quite often!

I am working with my dr. to try and get some of it resolved but all the mentioned conditions by others can cause dizziness so it can be frustrating trying to get to the root of the cause.
Hope you are able to get some relief. My 93 year old grandma takes meclizine and has no problem with it.

OK, my big question is WHAT were the side effects from Progesterone? I have been on bio identical progesterone for the past 2 1/2 years. Have had anxiety since 2007. thx

Hi MmeLeota,
With me the side effects I started experiencing from the bio progesterone cream were very, very sore breasts. This happened this past spring and I had been on in for over 5 years. So, I started slowing reducing it from 20ml to 10ml, then down to 5ml and then quit completely about 1 1/2 months ago.
Good things are my breasts no longer hurt, I have more energy, where as before when I was on the progesterone, I had to take a nap everyday. Bad thing is I have had more anxiety and internal shakiness since getting off. BUT I found out that progesterone acts like a benzo in your body and I am probably just having withdrawal as my body has been used to having it all these years.
I honestly have tried restarting it again the last few days, per my dr., and the anxiety is less but when I woke up this morning, I have felt crampy, nauseous and my breasts were just starting to get tender again!
Sooo....I think for me, my body just doesn't want or need it anymore and I'm going to have to find a different route to go.
If it is working for you, great! It worked for me for several years. Our bodies change over time, especially us ladies as we go through peri/meno so we have to make adjustments as needed.
BTW: I like your signature line.

I took progesterone for a couple of years and it worked great!!! Then all of a sudden Ibecame super cranky girl so they took me off that and put me on LoEstrin 24 FE birth control pills. Which seemed to be working for awhile but not so much anymore. I am pretty sure (and so are doctors) that besides my obsessive thinking my anxiety flares up because of hormones. Only thing that gets me is that after a couple of years whatever pill I am taking for hormones stops working and they have to put me on something else. Does that happen to anyone else?
