I am glad that I stopped in! I have been taking 5mg of Lexapro for about 4 yrs now, and recently had a terrible sinus infection and the anxiety got very bad, and then led to depression. I was having panic attacks, depression, etc so my doc suggested me taking 10mg. She told me that I needed to increase the dosage so that I could feel better. She wrote me a prescription for liquid Lexapro (since I am so sensitive to meds). She wanted me to gradually increase it until I got to 10mg in hopes that I would feel better. Needless to say, when I increase the med just a bit I feel soooo much worse in the mornings! I take Lexapro at nite before bed. I tried 5.5mg for a week, and then 6 mg for about 3 nites, and went to 6.5 mg and noticed that I felt so jittery, on edge, tired, and much more anxious!

I also take Valium (as needed) - 1/4 of 2mg tablet. My doc is skeptical about trying me on other meds, because I am so sensitive to meds. I tried 5 anxiety meds before finding that Lexapro worked. When I started Lexapro, I noticed within a week I felt a lot better and within 2 weeks I was feeling great, and by a month I was fabulous!

I am frustrated because the depression and anxiety is still present, and I need a higher dosage-according to my doc, but I am not tolerating the higher dosage well at all!

This morning I felt so wirey after I took the 6mg last nite!
My doctor is probably not going to know what to tell me at this point, but we may have to go another route - as far as trying another med.
She did tell me that 10mg was probably what I needed in order to feel better, but I can't seem to get there! The anxiety is worse when I increase it.
I am very frustrated, and just wanting to feel better!
