Can'tdanceandcan'trelax, Curtis, Ms. T Bones, Squiffsmom, and Keeping the faith,
THANK YOU ALl!!
Thank you. I felt so alone! This is so hard to deal with! I am so glad I have you all to talk to!
My Doctor knows NOTHING about anxiety so I can't discuss this with her. She just gives me pain meds and antibiotics. The antibiotics are not doing anything, and I just finished my second round.
You all are making me feel so much better. I'm glad that I'm not alone in this, but I'm also sorry that you all are going through this. It's not fun at all.
And I thought that being lightheaded was torturous!

Hi, DeeDee.
I get so frustrated with my regular doctors; I don't want a P-doc per se, but a MSW or LSW isn't always enough, if that makes sense.
I found a really good nurse practitioner who specializes in anxiety/panic disorder; she not only does therapy, BUT, she's very very very knowledgable about meds and what they do or don't do, side effects, etc., stuff my regular GP just doesn't "get". I always get the deer-in-headlights look when I talk to the GP about this anxiety stuff, but I always get answers from my NP.
Just some food for thought.

Hi Keeping the faith!
I couldn't describe the look I get from my Doctor until your post! LOL Deer in the headlights! So true!!
She makes me feel like I'm an alien with two heads when she looks at me like that.

I am so glad iam not the only one with this symptoms. i get pressure in my ears and head all the time. i keep going to the doctor and they also tell me that i have fluid in the back of my ears, then they also gave me nasal spray and it helps a little. But when iam driving this preassure really scares me. But my question is do any of you with this symptoms smoke?
Because i went to see another doctor for a second opinion and she said as long as i keep smoking the ear infections and head preassure will keep coming back. She said smoking is killing all my defences from the throat and nose. That really scare me so since then i decided to quit smoking. I can't do it cold turkey but i have cut back alot. Dont know if this will help any of you but just wanted to let you know.

Dittos on the ear problems! And yes, smoking does exacerbate inner ear problems. I have been to the ENT and he, too, wants to put tubes in my ears. But, I am not going to do that.
I have found that ProAstelin helps some. Even with high blood pressure, you should be able to use them, as they are antihistamines primarily. It is the decongestants that those with high blood pressure shouldn't take.
I am so very sorry to hear of your double loss. My gosh, I cannot imagine the anxiety this has caused. My prayers are with you.

Thank SeeBee for your very kind words and prayer! I really appreciate it!
I'm gonna ask my doctor about that nasal spray(it is a nasal spray, right?).
Thank you Lilly for responding! No I do not smoke. Never have.
I'm so glad you're stopping!

deedee I am sorry for your recent loss.
I don't know with your BP if you can use salt water - I sometimes use a neti pot, you can find it at any health food store and also many drug stores. It looks like a little teapot, you put warm water mixed with a little salt and it goes in one nostril and comes out the other.
I also feel congested and some pressure from allergies. I'm sure the anxiety is making matters worse though. Our bodies and minds are pretty incredible.

Thank you Shifrah!
You're so kind.
My blood pressure is under control now. I'm going to try the netti pot.
I wonder why they don't tell us about the netti pot in hospitals and Doctor's offices?

Well my thoughts on Western Medicine is that they tend to look down on alternative or natural remedies. But, it's so refreshing when that occasional doctor or nurse practitioner does pay attention to that kind of thing!

Dee Dee,
Actually, My board certified internist told me about the neti pot and he said it had helped his sinus issues tremendously. So definitely give it a try. He said he was tormented and the use of the neti pot really helped his episodes of sinus problems go way down. Also Dr. Oz, the dude who used to be on Oprah and now has his own show, pushes neti pots. He is a cardiovascular surgeon. So some doctors try natural methods before they stick you on an antibiotic--it probably depends on how bad your symptoms present. If you are a total mess, they usually go for the antibiotics because they can work faster and they don't want you getting any worse. You might want to try the neti pot to try to ward off future issues.
