If you have been feeling this way after 2 weeks of taking the med,if it,the feelings level out,give it a couple of days if not contact your Doc,,,It may help also to monitor your salt intake !!!!!!What side effects can this medication cause?

Escitalopram may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

nausea

diarrhea

constipation

changes in sex drive or ability

drowsiness

increased sweating

dizziness

heartburn

stomach pain

excessive tiredness

dry mouth

increased appetite

flu-like symptoms

runny nose

sneezing



Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

very stiff (rigid) muscles, high fever, sweating, fast or uneven heartbeats, tremors, overactive reflexes;
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, feeling unsteady, loss of coordination; or
headache, trouble concentrating, memory problems, weakness, confusion, hallucinations, fainting, seizure, shallow breathing or breathing that stops.
Less serious side effects may include:

drowsiness, dizziness;
sleep problems (insomnia);
mild nausea, gas, heartburn, upset stomach, constipation;
weight changes;
decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm; or
dry mouth, yawning, ringing in your ears.

I'm so glad you like the quote. Ironically, I got it from a book, written by the person I'm quoting, about tracking down and dealing with deadly virus outbreaks throughout the world. It's probably not a great book for a person with anxiety issues to own, LOL!

Thank you for your kind words. Posting here helps me as much as it does anyone who might read my posts. There's a sense of healing that comes with sharing our life experiences and trying to help others. So thank you for being there for me as well.

I do understand where you're coming from in terms of getting over your fear of gravity failing. As I look back over the years I've had anxiety, there have been many fears that I've had that have come and gone, simply through exposure. I eventually stopped worrying about them because the never really happened. Perhaps the same will happen with my fear of falling off the planet!

I'm still discovering my own spirituality and I'm in the process of developing faith and trust in God. I hope that I can get to a point where I am able to just let go and let God carry me through the worst of my panic. I am beginning to understand that He is always present, always with me, and always supporting me. But too often I forget when my stress levels start to climb. I have a long way to go in that area of my life, but the rewards seem to be endless.

Newrunner here. I got over the fear of having a high heart rate and the fear of "what if" by using a heart rate monitor when I exercise. It tells me facts only. I have had it on when I had a panic attack in the gym, and my heart rate did go up, but not nearly what it does with general exercise. At the gym I go to, I had a metabolic test to show me what heart rates are most effective for me to burn fat, etc. When the trainer first told me to get my heart rate to about 115bpm, I freaked out and seriously thought about quitting the gym, as if "the gym" was the problem. It was me getting used to a new environment. Luckily, I am vain enough that I knew I needed to move to change my body. Now, I exercise regularly about 165bpm when I run and about 135bpm when I do the elliptical. Even lifting weights will really get it high when you are using your big leg and butt muscles. I guess I just learned that facts do not equal feelings and more often than not, my feelings were incorrect. Thru doing this repeatedly, it got really boring and I don't even notice anymore. It probably has a lot to do with being in better shape too


SeaRunner- The great thing about God is that He lets you have do-overs. And He is interested in your seeking of Him, not the perfection of your path. He has really opened my eyes about this whole anxiety thing thru all you wonderful people who are totally normal just like me. Here's hoping you only run into horses, not zebras.
