"I cried out to the Lord in my suffering, and he heard me. He set me free from all my fears."

In regards to scripture:

Does anyone memorize scripture to combat anxious moments?

A few years back I had a former student who also suffered from anxiety give me a post-it pad that she had written several of the above verses. I then put the verses in various places I would see them every day (inside vanity, by meds, on dashboard of car, etc.). This was one of the best gifts I've ever been given!

My mom also suffers from anxiety/insonmia and on nights she can't sleep, instead of focusing on herself and her challenges, she prays for others. I've also done this, and before I know it, I've calmed down and frequently fallen asleep. If I don't fall asleep, I remind myself that it is because someone needs my prayers.

Blessings to you all as you begin the week,
fischee

Wow, how creative. An excellent tool for those who are spiritual to distract themselves. Excellent post. :D

I personally don't use scriptures to distract myself...........for that case I might has well pick up a book........I use scripture.....the word in faith and for deliverance......Its basically the manual to life for me.
