Hey everybody. I'm Ivan and i'm totally new here. I started the program a couple weeks ago and i'm starting Session 3. I have already listened to it a couple times because the concept of Self-talk totally makes sence to me, as becasue the fact i ALWAYS talk to myself, due to my history...

Anyway, i hope i can chat with y'all. Thanx.

Hey cap77!
Thanks for the post. I have been struggling with all the negative chatter going on and don't know how you are saying so much positive!!
Can you please give me some tips on how you are staying focused on the positive messages?

Hey Martin and Ivan. It looks like I should come back and check my post's more often, considering you both posted these a month ago. Hopefully your both whoopin as? now. Early in the program I definately had the most fun with positive self talk. I would continuosly drill positive statements into my head. I wouldn't say anything unbelievable, just positive statements. I am good enough. I'm smart, funny, and well liked. I'm creative and I deserve to be happy. Never again will I hold myself back..... Things like that. I didn't believe them all in the begining, but do today. Just keep telling yourself these things and they will begin to become second nature. Very rarely do I still need positive self talk to get me motivated to do something or enjoy something. Another thing that really helped me was writing down my negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones. Find the humor in your negative statements. Set back and think about how ridiculous they really are. When go back early in the program and read some my answers to the workbook, I'll just set there and laugh. Ha..Ha... Believe in yourself, there's noone that can't get over this.

"I will persist until I succeed. I was not delivered into this world in defeat, nor does failure course in my veins. I am not a sheep waiting to be proded by my sheperd. I am a lion and I refuse to talk, to walk, to sleep with the sheep. The slaughterhouse of failure is not my destiny. I will persist until I succeed.

Cap77,
Have you finished the program? You seemed to have such a good go get em' attitude. Just wondering if you feel you can cope better now with stressful situations.
Thanks

Hey traveler, I finished the program a few weeks ago. I also took a few weeks off around lesson 10. I can definately cope with things better now that I've been through the program. I don't blow things out of wack like I used too. It's a better way to live, let me tell ya. Stay with the program and you'll get there soon. Good luck!!!!

Thanks for the inspiration cap. i'm on session 3 day 3 and i really like the idea of fake it till you make it. i sometimes have a hard time recognizing the entire negative thoughts that cause anxious feelings espsecially at work as it's fast paced and requires concentration when diagnosing cars. thats when those thoughts sneak up on me and are gone before i know it. but ican certainly crowd them out with positive thoughts. thanks once again for a great idea. bradley.
