Jonesy...I honestly knew that it wasn't your heart...We are just not allowed to diagnose people on this site, since, we are not doctors...
Stop the "what if" thinking, and say, "So what if".."It's no big deal, and I am just scaring myself." I am thankful that you received the results from your Cardiologist, now, you can let go of that fear...Please try and not focus on your body symptoms...Focus outwards...God Bless!!!
Cardiology Appointment
Congratulations, JonesyAZ, for the great test results.
I have to have a stress test in two days and I am "stressed" to the max about having it done. Although all my cardio tests in the past have been fine (blood tests, EKG, xrays) I am so scared that the cardiologist will find something wrong. My doctor would never have referred me for a stress test until I told him of my constant worries over my heart. He then said, "why don't I refer you for a stress test just to relieve your mind. But I know there is nothing wrong".
This referral for my peace of mind has me going out of my mind! I know there is nothing to it, but my anxiety level has been so high about this that I am having tension headaches. I don't know whether this is all worth the tension and anxiety I am going through. I ride a stationary bike 5 miles a day and I have no symptoms at all. I do have PVC's (skipped beats) but I have had those for years and years.
Should I go and have this or take the stress and headaches? Thanks for any input. Rob.

Rod,
Hey bro, thank you for the kind words and for the message!
DEFINITELY do the stress test. I was nervous too, waiting for the results. But you know what? They said that i'm totally fine, and now, after 6 months of testing, and hearing doctor after doctor tell me and reassure me that i'm fine, i'm going to believe it!
You have to do things like this to ease your mind. But the important thing is once you've had it all checked out, BELIEVE that you are okay! It is the first major step in healing!
Good luck, man! Feel free to PM me once you get your results!

Howdy all,
So, i've been having some odd symptoms these last few weeks; i've had severe nausea and flu like attacks that lasted one day each time, just this last Monday and a few weeks ago. And, recently it's like anytime I eat spicy food, or food that I haven't normally eaten in a while, I get really bad GERD-type symptoms and have even had what feels like swollen lymph nodes in the left of my neck.
And, to make matters worse, I started to look up the "reliability of stress echo tests" and, of course, came across information that these tests are not very reliable.
I have GOT to let go of my heart fears, because thus far, i've received NO indication of a problem, other than my own self-created fear, and the recent issue my father had with a blocked coronary artery. Again, he has smoked packs a day for over 40 years; thankfully, I don't smoke, and don't have any other family history of heart problems besides that.
AAARGH!!! Please somebody just tell me i'm crazy...hahaha.

Jonesy...Honey..You are healthy. Your heart is fine, and now you are just scaring yourself by thinking up more negative things...Please try and replace these negative thoughts with more positive realistic thoughts..That will help more than you will ever know...You are healthy...Your heart is fine...You will not have a heart attack...You are in excellent health. Trust your heart to beat...That is something it does automatically...Do not concern yourself with any new symptoms...You are "obsessing" over health issues, and you have no need to do so, because you are safe, healthy and you are going to be fine...
Also, you are not one bit crazy...You must have a very "vivid" imagination to dream up all these negative "scenarios"...
Use that imagination to help you...You are a great person....God Bless...

And please don't go the route that I went for years by reading every health book I could come up with...I stopped that one...I learned the hard way not to diagnose ourselves; because I betcha 100% of the time we will come up with the worst diagnosis possible...
Trust your body to be healthy...I know it is, and I do not even know you...
Everyone gets flu symptoms, and lots of people have swollen lymph nodes...My hubby did and nothing was wrong with him...
Don't worry be happy...Put a smile on that face
