Has the program changed any over the years?

Post by dj1891 » Sun Aug 09, 2020 7:17 am

I went through this about 20 years ago now, worked a treat to be fair. Anyway, General Anxiety reared its ugly head again last year and I've been struggling with it since.

I did listen to a couple of the tapes at one time but couldn't really relate to it at this time, it all sounded very dated.

This is a great question! We now have the program available in app form for the iphone with android version soon to follow. The guidebook is a bit updated but the audio tapes are mostly the same, packed full of the CBT tools and truths we all need. The relaxation exercise is the same.

Please feel free to email coachchris@stresscenter.com if you have further questions.

Well, I suppose the folks on the tapes are just a bit older now. Just a tad. Sadly, one of the people on the tapes has passed away.

But the principles of CBT are timeless. That's why the program still works today, like it did 20 years ago.

Dr. David Burns wrote his first book on CBT 40 years ago. It's still just as effective today as in 1980.

I did the program to session 4, before I quit in about 2014. (my loss) Anxiety and depression continued. I gave the CDs/booklet to someone else. My anxiety and depression continued on and on. I realised it wasnt fair on my wife. Finally, I looked online to get the course (CDs and booklet) again. Of course I had to pay again. But what's for free now a days? Im half way through session 3. Thoroughly enjoying it and following the course EXACTLY as stated. It's a discipline, Im sure you all agree. Has the course changed? As I said, I stopped it in 2014 until now. The course itself I havent noticed any changes.......yet. What I do love...for my wife, is the cd for her to listen to, to let her know what Im going through and the changes she will see. Explained it FAR BETTER than I ever could!
