Holly, I had the same effects and they were absolutely horrible! And, my doc started me at 2.5mg because I am so sensitive to SSRI's! We have since discovered after trying so many different ones, that I just cannot take the SSRI! Too bad for me, as I know so many that have benefited from them... now, I am on the older tricyclic, Impramine.

Good luck to you.

SeeBee,I am also having the same problems with SSRI's. I have tried Zoloft,Paxil, and lexapro. I know what you mean,it is a real bummer knowing that it has helped so many others but can't help us. Is Impramine helping you?

Holly, I know what you mean, my doc took me off Lexapro after one day on a very low dose because of the horrible side effects. NOw she wants me on risperdal I am also very nervous!! I am right there with you! Stay tough and let me know if Pristiq works!

Holly, I assume you are asking if the Impramine works for me? If so, yes it does. Again, I am starting on a low dose (10mg), but with the Xanax (Ativan doesn't touch me), it is helping. I go up to 20mg on Thursday... I am soooo sensitive to these drugs, so we start out at very low doses. But, I am not so sure if I am really sensitive or if I just get myself so worked up about them that I make myself more anxious... does that make sense?

In any event, I wish you the best of luck. I always read your postings and you are always so encouraging of others, and I hope that we can give even a smidgen back to you...

Good luck, again!

Aww seebee thank you so much. Thats really sweet of you to say because i was thinking i dont give much back to this community and mostly just ask a lot of questions because i am totally paranoid. And yes i totally understand what you mean about if its the meds or you doing it to yourself. Im so GLAD that your new meds are helping you!! Yes ativan is pretty gentle. Iv never tried Xanax. Its funny because .25 hardly does much and .5 makes me too sleepy and out of it to take during the day. Well I am staying hopeful with my meds. Right now I am just knowing these meds have to work for me! Iv been through so much and something has to help! thanks again

Hi Holly,
I took Lexapro 10 MG for 7 days. Didn't eat, never stopped crying, very anxious - even Xanax didn.t help. I,m off the stuff and never want to see it again! My Doc said I didn,t hang with it long enough but I really feel that I'd be completely nuts if I had taken it for one more day.

Hi Holly. a few years ago I tried lexapro. It was the worst pill I have ever had. I got off of it and would never go back on it for anything. Drs. aren't always right, or nice

Hi:

I ahve taken Lexapro for over a year. Started with 10 milligrams, went to 20 and I am now on a regular dose of 30. I wouldn't have survived without it. I have tried several anxiety meds and this one has helped the most. Hope you stick with it for a while and see if it helps you. Best of luck.

Thank you all for the replies. I am now on pristiq and it doesnt make me feel wired like Lexapro did. everyone reacts differently i guess.
