The Past

I got this in an e-mail.

Have you ever driven a car by looking through the rear view mirror?

While you wouldn't think of driving in such a manner, many of us are living our lives that way. . . . That is why we sometimes "run into" problems because our attention and focus are somewhere else. If we keep looking at past mistakes, old regrets and missed opportunities, we can never see what God has for us now. . . .
If we focus on the past, we will keep making the same mistakes over and over. When we keep our eyes on the future, we will begin to see new opportunities to enrich our lives. Let the past go. . . . What is done is done.

Forgive all those old people, places and things and move on. Today, let us keep our eyes on the future. . . . When we make peace with our
past, our future will be ready to open its arms to us. It's a new day.

That is me to the T. Very well put. I really struggle with letting it go and forgiving, especially myself. Any suggestion?
Thanks for the wisdom of th4 year old as well.

That was so wonderful thank you for uplifting me today and to remember what you said in this thread it is so true. I am very good at forgiving others but not so much myself but working on it and you have inspired me to keep looking forward.

Spartanguy, I've found it helpful to go back to session 6 and session 9. In fact, I think I'll dig those out tonight.
