just started paxil again

Hey I was wondering of some of others initial side effects when starting paxil,,, I took it 5 yrs ago and dont remember how it made me feel im not taking much at first im suppose to build up to 20 mg but starting at 5 due to my extreme fear of meds. After the first pill I felt nervous and out of it is that normal. I just hope i feel as good this time as the last time i took it and if i do im never stopping meds again...

You can have different reactions to starting the same medication at different times in your life, and different side effects while on the same medication. I took 10mg Paxil three separate times within 5 years, and the first two times had no problems going on or off, but the last time was a whammy. The first week on an antidepressant can be very rough. If I had to do it again, I would 'step up' like you are doing. Takes longer to get the end result, but maybe is easy on your body to go gradually.

I'm giving paxil cr a try starting tonight.The Dr.said that the CR usually has less side effects.I'm starting on the lowest dose which is 12.5 mg.I'm very afraid but it's worth a try.
I have been on paxil before and it helped in many ways.I was up to 40 mg.But when first starting out I started slow and worked my way up.Last time I tried to get back on the DR started me at too high a dose and I had a bad reaction.So please take it slow.This medication can be very helpful.I hope we both do well on it.
