Red Itchy welts

About 3 weeks ago I was going on vacation and work has been extremely stressful. I started getting itchy and had a big red welt on my back. It has now been 3 weeks and now they are all over. I went to my Dr and he stated it was stress urticaria. Let's just say I don't wish this on my worst enemy. I am miserable...how am I suppose to decrease my stress and panic when I am itchy and have red welts all over. Anyone ever dealt with welts.
