Hello, I am just starting the program though I bought it 2 years ago. My anxiety has gotten so bad since I was layed off from my job last year that I hardly ever leave my bedroom. I am scared and shake, start to sweat, feel like I am loosing my mind. I am recently married and just cannot be completely honest with my new husband, he is aware of my starting this program but not how bad I really am. I cannot even go see my family or drive my car to the doctor. On top of everything I have been taking a controlled substance perscribed by my doctor for 7 years and I am only getting worse. Can someone please give me some advice.

Misty I am new to the program, too. Please start. It is worth a try. You have nothing to lose. Do this for yourself. Have him listen to the CD for spouses. Tell your doctor about what you are going through. Hang in there.

Please taper off the meds. Or give them to your husband to ration to you. If those don't work, see a doctor. I wouldn't say this if I hadn't been there and know exactly what it's like. It's not fun or easy to get rid of those, but your mind will never work right unless you do.
To strenghten your marriage and yourself, you have to sit down with hubby and tell him exactly what you are going through and how you need his support. Daily tell him of your progress and where you need to improve. Don't let either one of these things steal your marriage. I've kept it short but please private message me anytime and please consider joining the Wednesday night prayer group conference call. Some good support will help right now. God bless- Beverly

I'm not sure how this all works--I mean, how you respond and write to others. I am just starting the program, too. My problem is that all my thoughts are turned inwards so I am always thinking about how I feel and it's hard to change my thought pattern. How do you do that????

Ermie,
That is normal what you need to do is listen to the relaxation cd, take it one minute at a time and use the breathing method this will help you a little for now. I was that way last week and this week on week two I am learning to control them and it does get easier just hang in there.
