I've been dealing with bouts of depression for almost 16 years and dealing with anxiety/panic attacks for over 7 years. I'm on medication for both (pills). I also have Multiple Sclerosis. I do good with it but a few months back I started having problems with my throat (feeling like something is stuck), I went to an E.N.T and was checked out, he said due to the MS, I must have a nerve that was damaged to where I have little feeling so it will feel like something is stuck in my throat. It comes and goes during the day. I've been having anxiety/panic attacks real bad for the last 2 months - everyday, seems like all day long. It seems like a cant be comfortable no matter what. My heart starts racing, I feel like I cant swallow, I have thoughts of dying, I cry for no reason, I've lost my appetite to where I hardly eat (I've lost 22 pounds in the last 2 mnths.). I dont want to live like this anymore. I'm scared all the time!!!! My sister got my the Combatting Stress and Depression Program and I listened to the Relaxation tape and Session 1 yesterday for the 1st. time. I'm hoping this will work!!!!
Hi Barbara,
Just so you know, the throat sensations that you are having are incredibly COMMON symptoms of anxiety. If you do a search on this message board for the throat or the feeling of something stuck in the throat about a thousand hits will pop up. It keeps many people from eating because they are so scared of it. So much tension goes to that area all the way down to our stomachs causing all kinds of wonderful sensations for us to worry about!
Hope you feel better, take care
