Hi Everyone,

I have been feeling much better....but I just can't seem to get rid of my eye symptoms. I am so frustrated, which only adds to the problem. I can be feeling very peaceful and calm and still my vision vibrates. It has been going on for about a year now, and I am afraid it will always be this way. I assumed it was anxiety related, but I have managed to get over ALL other body sensations...(and I had ALOT) but this sticks. I also feel like I have a slight pressure right in the middle of my forehead, and I tend to get neck aches when I am tired, etc. My vision vibrates, it makes looking at stripes jiggle and I also see halos etc. Most of my eye symtoms have improved, but the squiggly vision. I also have a hard time looking at bright lights, my eyes will tear and burn alot. Sunlight is a killer. I try to wear sunglasses, but even when I walk by a window and the sun is shining on the bright snow, I will get that pressure feeling in my forehead and my eyes will hurt. I am trying to be patient, but it is hard. Could this be something other than anxiety? I had an eye exam 2 months ago, she didn't dilate my pupils or anything, but nothing was out of the ordinary. I tried to explain how I felt, but she brushed me off. There is only one eye doctor here, I would have to go to another town 2 hours away, to get a second opinion. What do you think?

hey,
sounds to me like you may have alot of tension in your head and neck area. If you are worried though go to another dr for another opinion. I am sure it is tension caused by anxiety.

HI CHANTEL,
I have read alot of postings here about people with eye trouble, maybe someone can pull some up for you,as im not good at searching the forums. not very good with computers at all for that matter.
Anyway i too have alot of eye problems off and on and it gets very unnerving sometimes particularly if i trip about it. Just know this is part of anxiety and try to ignore it as much as you can. take care

This is one of my biggest problems! I am super sensitive, like if I see a bright light,I will see those spots for what feels like ever,I feel like my eyes are jiggling all the time and it drives me batty! I have attacks just from this,Coming in or out of a dark or bright room is terrible,my eyes take a really long time to adjust! I also feel "foggy" in the vision department! If the rest of your symptoms are leaving,I am sure this one will go as well soon! Like someone posted there is alot of tension in this area! Take Care!Kristi

Chantal, my husband has very bad vision and he has developed what is called nystagmus. It is an involutary movement of the eyeball. When someone looks at your eyeball do they actually see it moving? You can on my husband. I recommend going to an ophthalmologist who will be able to tell you about it. Hope this helped.

Chantal,
I just popped in to check and see if you had posted lately and here you are! I must be psychic!

I also still have vision problems - in fact, that's my only remaining symptom. I have many weird things in my vision including the wiggly vision, light sensitivity and more. Do you still have the afterimages? I do.

This has been going on for over a year with me too. I've been to all the docs. If you are concerned - the best doc to see would be a neuro-ophthamologist who specializes in the brain and eye. But really, I could guarantee you that he will find nothing wrong - it may just give you the reassurance that you are fine.

I can't remember - did you ever take any anti-depressants? Mine started after I took one for my migraines. I wonder if there isn't a chemical imbalance involved - which could be also a result of stress.

You mentioned lights bothering you - do lights seem "whiter" than normal? Headlights are very white to me, so is the sun, and the headlights streak when they pass. I even where lightly tinted shades when I drive at night! Lovely!

There is a great health anxiety support forum where eye topics have been discussed. I don't have the URL handy but if you go to yahoo and type "health anxiety support" it will come up.

You can e-mail me privately too if you want to talk more about these frustrating symptoms!!!!! corco6400@aol.com

Take care,
Melissa

I never heard anyone else with the vibrating visual disturbances. Thank you.

whenever I hear someone else with the same symptoms mine usually goes away.

I also awaken sometimes and my chest area is vibrating. It used to make me panic, but not any more.

Do you mean to say you think this is NOT anxiety?

Chantal,

what I am saying is that this is a body symptom that I have experienced....and it never killed me or made me go blind.

If my husband felt his eyes vibrating he wouldn't give it a second thought. However, before doing the program I would have panicked also. Now I feel it, remember that I don't have it everyday and it has never gotten worse or killed me and I go on.

I think vibrations in our bodies are normal natural electrical currents (or impulses) or nerve endings.

By the way, as I am typing this I just had one of those random sudden bright flashes of light that passes through our vision. This time last year I would be panicking. Not now. It came and went. Oh well.
