Is there anyone out there that has experienced difficulty swollowing food and then feeling a lump in the throat that it made you feel like relching? I sometimes have this starting of course with a anxiety attack until I calm down. I don't actually vomit. I just heave for a few minutes.
I really feel helpless when this happens. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Jeggie,
I have Acid Reflux due to a Hiatal Hernia. I've never experienced difficulty with swallowing food. I have had the feeling of a lump in my throat but I think that had something to do with my sinus problems at the time.
I would recommend that you see your doctor if you are truly having problems with swallowing.
This will also give you some peace of mind knowing what could be causing this problem.

I agree with sunset, I have G.E.R.D., was just diagnosed in March and am on meds for it and a strict diet and once I got it under control, I found that I had less anxiety and panic attacks as the 'hard to breathe' feeling make me scared and the strange feelings in my stomach and esophagus, also made me feel uneasy all the time. So get this checked and get it under control and it will help a Lot!
