I turned 40 today. 18 months ago I had my first chest 'spasm' or twitch, located in the centre of my sternum. the doctor in emergency said I was severely anxious (she passed by my feet at the end of the bed and was stunned by the level of heat/odour coming from them lol) and the muscles in my chest wall were so taut that they were spasming periodically to release/express tension. i've had back spasms and pain for about 10 years now, sometimes these have put me down on the floor unable to move but chest sensations that seem to be 'odd' is something newish that needs to be looked at immediately because of proximity to the heart. valium (tranquirit) was prescribed and yes it stops spasms as they were in the beginning, but I can still feel them 'wanting' to break. spasms in my centre back and centre chest wall sent me back to hospital in decmeber 2007 but they checked me again, listened to my chest, abdomen, stomach. ran an ECG exam, blood work for troponin etc. but all clear. my heart was racing at 100bpm, first time ever, it's normally 65-70 at rest but I was terrified - she checked TSH for thyroid disorder but again, nothing. I am still taking 25 drops of valium each morning but by mid afternoon I feel tired and spasms want to start on me! :( my question is, shall I buy into this program? what can it do for me? I don't want soothing voices or music on cd/dvd, I have plenty of that asis. I need practical solutions to solve this problem. i'm re-starting mountain biking around rome tomorrow, wish me luck! anyone have any advice, lmk! thanks!

The program would be beneficial to you. It
is a great program but you have to make the effort
to not only listen to the cds but to also do the homework assignments and incorporate what you have
learned into your daily life.
You will learn how to control your negative thoughts and relax your body and mind.

And Happy Birthday! :)

Hi peter68 I must agree with DebDeb I am in my second week of the program and I feel like I've found the one thing that is going to help me after years of failure. I just got over a huge hurtal yesterday and I am so proud of myself and let me tell you I dont think I've ever said that to myself before. You have to want it and then achieve it. God speed on your bike. Happy Birthday!!!!!
