I was wondering if anyone was taking an anti depressant and felt like it wasn't working that well and than the Dr up'd your dose and it started to work? Iv been on mine for 6 weeks and feel it should be working better. I am losing my health insurance so wont be able to see my psychiatrist anymore. I'm very upset. Anyway, just wondering if uping your dose can make you feel better

hi holly i have been taking zoloft and before that i tried paxil. the paxil didnt work for me so i went back to zoloft. i have went up and down in the dosage and really it all seems the same to me. i still feel panic when i put myself in situations that i am going to be uncomfortable. the only thing that i have noticed is that it does help me sleep better. i think that it is something to talk about with your doctor but moving up usually can make the side affects more apparent. if you dont think that its working its probably not you know your body better than anyone.

have you tried efexor rx? I am not sure if any of them really work that great. I think for the most part the anti anxiety meds just take the edge off. This one has been the best that I have found so far. The program is the key to getting better I feel.

The antidepressants paxil and prozac did not work for me at all, in fact I had strange thoughts and did strange things. For some people with the mood swings these SSRIs aren't the best choice. Ask your doc about the dose increase.

An increase in dosage could help. I know it has helped others. But discuss with your doc first, you can always try it and then see if it has improved things. It is all trial and error. Has it helped at all?? Although 6 weeks seems like awhile to be on a med, I know plenty of people that have had to take an AD for 3-4 months before seeing all of the benefits of the meds.

Nole, I have a lot of ups and downs still. i have not experienced a good day in a couples weeks. But a couples weeks ago I was feeling good. I dont know if this has to do with my hormones but I HATE feeling terrible for 2 weeks out of the month. Last night i had th worst panic attack ever. Had to take 2 mgs of Ativan. Today I just feel depressed. I was just curious if uping a your dose usually makes people feel better. im so sick of feeling bad. I do feel since going on the meds I am more irritable and get bored easier and am more snappy. Other times I feel happy but its been 2 weeks since iv felt happy. I just feel spacey a lot and moody. I have never been this moody ever! So i can honestly say it could be the meds. . . maybe the anti depressants maybe the birth control. . . All this spaciness and boredom makes me feel soooo depressed and thats the worst thing for me. well that and feeling derealization. . . A nd iv been getting DR for a few weeks now. I hate it. i just want to feel balanced and sharp and clear. . Thats why i wonder if she can put me on a mood stablizer even though i dont have bi polar.
